Summer Exhibitions in the Millennium Hall

The museum is already full of what some people would describe as a fantastic collection of  cars, but to have a display of what is considered to be the world’s best in that make or model of cars all together in one room is truly magnificent.  The exhibition is held every year in the summer and this year we will be holding a display of E-Type's................

50 Years of E-Type Excellence - Friday 22nd July to Sunday 11th September

This exhibition will celebrate the 50th anniversary of one of the most iconic motor cars of all time.......the E Type Jaguar. For just a few months over the summer period the exhibition will celebrate this anniversary by looking at Jaguar sports cars throughout history starting from the SS100 right up to the last car that William Lyons had a direct hand in, the XJS which some say was the E Type replacement. On display will be a whole series of XK`s and some very famous racing D & C types and of course the museums own XKSS replica. The exhibition will evoke famous names such as Mike Hawthorn, Ivor Bueb, Peter Colins, Duncan Hamilton etc to name but a few.

100 Years of Advertising the Motor Car

Observe how advertising changed from static nuts and bolts of the Edwardian era to the subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) moving image advertising of today.
