May half term Haynes Motor Museum somerset

This half term, Haynes International Motor Museum is geared up for a fantastic day out for all ages. Enjoy a fun-filled day out together as you uncover the fascinating stories, sights and sounds behind the history of motoring in seventeen themed exhibitions at one of Somerset’s largest indoor attractions.

So much to see and do!

Explore the largest collection of cars  in the UK and get up close to hundreds of shiny vehicles including horseless carriages, super cars, Formula 1s and Ferraris.

Discover why a Formula 1 car doesn't fly

In the brand new Williams F1: The Drivers and The Driven exhibition you can meet some of the Museum’s friendly Education team and see their working wind tunnel! Join in the fun to find out how an F1 car stays on the track and why it doesn’t take off like an aeroplane! The wind tunnel activity will be running throughout the day on Monday 31 May – Friday 4 June between 10am – 2pm and is included with your Museum entry.

See and hear one of the first internal combustion engines whirr and spring to life

Push to start the working Barsanti-Matteucci engine on display in the Dawn of Motoring and see the gears and pistons spring to life, then find out how a modern car works from engine to wheels with working cutaway in Memory Lane.

Try the new “Reds around the World” interactive

Experience the famous Red Room filled to the brim with shiny red sports cars. Try the new hands-free “Reds around the World” interactive to learn all about the colour red and what the colour means in different countries.

Keep little ones busy along the way

Throughout the Museum look out for plenty of things to do like Paint a Mini, brass rubbings, the Top Trumps trail and Haynes Motorland, a fantastic outside playground; with coin-operated go-karts, interactive garage and mini road system.

Enjoy a welcome pitstop in Café 750

The onsite Café 750 with seating inside and out also provides the perfect pit-stop throughout your visit, serving good coffee, a selection of refreshments and fresh, locally sourced food and snacks for all the family daily.
