Farewell to Mark Webber & The RB6 exhibition

3rd Jun 2019

This week we have said farewell to our temporary feature exhibition ‘Mark Webber & The RB6’, which has been a on display at the Museum since February 2016.

Goodbye to Mark Webber's RB6 F1

”I’m so proud that the RB6 has had an incredible home for the last two years at Haynes International Motor Museum.

I know many people have enjoyed seeing the car close up in such a pristine condition, and I’m sure Red Bull Racing are delighted that a piece of their history has been such a popular featured display.

The only reason it’s leaving, is to go back to a venue where the car enjoyed incredible success.  It’s fitting that The Silverstone Experience will be its next home.

A big thank you to Haynes for creating a wonderful exhibit and taking such good care of her.” - Mark Webber

Mark Webber's RB6 F1 car has left Haynes International Motor Museum permanently this week and heading to its new home at The Silverstone Experience

Australian Mark Webber retired from Formula One in 2013.  Since his F1 career began in 2002 at the age of 26, Mark has notched up an impressive 217 races, nine victories (notably a double at the prestigious Monaco and British Grand Prix), 42 podium finishes, 13 pole positions and 19 fastest laps. Mark finished third in the World Drivers’ Championship three times, including in 2013 enabling him to leave the sport while very much at the top of his game.

Haynes International Museum's Collection team has plans for a new feature exhibition, which will be announced in the near future, so head to our social media pages to keep up to date with the latest news.
