1961 Ford Zephyr Custom

This Zephyr started life as the Fire Chief’s car at Exeter fire station and was subsequently sold to one of the firemen in Devon, who kept it until 1981.

Thereafter it was extensively rebuilt and modified to be exhibited at various custom car shows, where it won over 40 trophies.

It retains its original 2553cc engine which has a modified six-branch manifold fitted with three carburettors and has a four speed gearbox taken from a Vauxhall Ventura.  It has been customised in a very subtle way, without using outlandish colours and body changes.  The car has been featured in 'Custom Car' magazine.
